So, to start, I am just going to say WOW! This movie was one of the biggest emotional rollercoasters that I have seen in a very long time. If you know me, you know that I am a sucker for movies that are based off true stories. There are several that have stuck with me, and I can say that this is probably one that will be on the list of movies to always keep handy. The movie follows Tommy Saunders (Mark Wahlberg) before and immediately following the bombing at the Boston marathon in 2013.
From the very beginning of the movie, emotions were running high. Honestly, I thought the actual bombing was going to happen later in the movie, but having it so close to the beginning really kept the emotions going. From there it was just hit after hit after hit.
I also loved how the opening scanned from character to character to flash the introduction of each major player. One that made this so good is that you had no clue who was who. All you knew was that the bombing was counting down in the corner, and anyone of these people could've been one of the people to die.
The most suspenseful part for me was when the two bombers went after the campus officer and when they carjacked Dun Meng (Jimmy O. Yang). He played his part so well and the tension between him and the two bombers Dzhokhar Tsarnaev (Alex Wolff) and Tamerlan Tsarnaev (Them Melikidze) was phenomenal work.
I don't want to spoil too much because the ending was so powerful, but I will say it was amazing. It was so well done that when the credits started rolling, there was not a single word. Normally I hear chatting between friends, but the only sound that could be heard in the theater were quiet sniffles and tears. Well done to the cast and the entire crew. Even though there may have been a few minuscule details off, I think this movie was outstanding and powerful. This film is highly recommended to anyone who can get to a viewing. You should all see it, but be prepared for the emotions to roll. I give it an
