Always Go Towards The Light

It's important to have goals in order to survive tough times.

Nothing in life is ever certain, and many people feel lost because they don't know where they are currently going.

College students often feel this way, and are unsure of their path in the future or what they event want their future to look like. The uncertainty of what young adults want in their future can make it seem like they aren't going anywhere, which causes them to feel lost.

Understanding what we want, who we want to be, and what we want to do can make it possible to find our end goal and stay on the right path no matter what happens in the middle.

Seeing the light ahead can make it easy to know where to go, but the darkness around us is still a terrifying reality. The path towards the light may be clear, but making progress on that path can seem like an uphill battle. No matter what happens in the darkness, it is always possible to reach the light.

People often fall away from their sight of the end when they begin to experience trying times, but those times are temporary. Goals can always be reached, whether it is in five days from now or five years from now. We can always get to the end, but we must stay committed to our path for it to be possible.

Anything that happens can knock us backwards, and these instances are what makes the journey hard. However, by pushing through the tough things in life, it is possible to realize any goal we set our minds to. While we may not always be moving forward, we are always on the right path: the path to the light.

Remember that even when you want to give up and things may seem dark, it's only temporary. Follow the light, and you'll be alright.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
