Move In Day!

Moving into your college dorm room can be incredibly exhausting and stressful, but there are many things that you can do to minimize the stress that you and your family will encounter on the big move-in day.

Don't wait to pack until the last minute! That is the biggest mistake that someone can make before moving in. Waiting until the last minute to pack is incredibly stressful, and you will more than likely forget something important. Try to have the list of what you need to buy ready at least a month before you go. Even if you only buy a couple things a week, it will make everything less stressful.

Put everything in bins. Target sells big buckets which end up making the move so much easier. That way you're not carrying in a lot of bags or carrying loose items. They also stack, which make them fit easier in the vehicl

Food shop before hand! If you plan on stocking your fridge right when you move in, come with the food. Unless you live far away the food will still be good when you plug in your fridge. One less trip to Walmart or Target will save time and energy and its one less thing to do.

Try to have an idea of were you want everything. It will be so much easier to move around furniture without a huge mess and a lot of people of in the room. Moving furniture around the room will also be easier without having to worry about unplugging things so they don't get pulled from the outlet.

Move-in day is incredibly stressful, but is an exciting day. Have fun!

P.S. If you live close or your parents come to visit send or bring home the extra items you don't need

It is a time where one day you can feel like you are on top of the world and then the next day you are 500 feet below the ground surface.

When I was learning how to talk, I was taught both Portuguese and English at the same time. In elementary school, I started taking mandatory Spanish classes, which I did well in because of my knowledge of Portuguese. Then in high school, on top of taking Spanish, I also started taking French. Now, in college, already fluent in English and Portuguese, I'm in the process of becoming fluent in Spanish, and I have a standard high school level understanding of French.
