A few weeks ago, my friend Huda decided to start something called "Motivation Mondays." Even though the new year usually brings us the inspiration to accomplish our goals, for some reason, 2019 has been really harsh for most people I know.
This year, no one around me felt motivated enough to make new resolutions or were re-inspired to do well in their classes this year. We all needed an extra push to keep us going this year, and that's exactly what Huda gave us.
Huda has always been interested in helping people and always made an effort to get involved with students and help her peers out. She's involved in several clubs at school and is part of the leadership for some of them, and she even puts in effort to take part in organizations out of school, such as "Young Muslims." She loves to help people and do as much as she can for her community.
So naturally, if she can think of anything that she can do easily and still help people, she will. That's why she started "Motivation Mondays." Like everyone, she knows that Mondays are the hardest to get through and we all need some help getting through the day. So, she decided to help her friends and peers out by posting positive messages or quotes on her Instagram story every Monday morning.
When I asked her why she decided to do it, she said, "I started motivational Mondays because I noticed everyone's a little off their game at the start of the week. Something cute and easy to read might change your whole outlook on the day. I love to make people smile and this was such an easy way to do it. I encourage everyone to do it or follow me @hudaahmeddd for cute quotes!"
One of the quotes she likes best is "Be so good they can't ignore you."
She says, "This really spoke to me because it's so easy to be cruel or backbite when things don't go your way. Remembering to stay positive and be even better than what people say you are is key. I hope everyone remembers that when times are tough. You're better than what they say you are."
I really love this idea that Huda came up with and encourage her to continue being her best and helping people out. Hopefully it can inspire others to do little things for the people around them or even make small changes like brightening a person's day. It's the little things that matter.
