Finals are here! That means you are probably sick of studying and you have consumed way too much caffeine in the last few weeks. You are constantly being torn between "I need to this study guide" and "whatever happens is going to happen." If you find yourself in the latter category, then this article is for you! Keep reading to get all the motivation you need if you are doubting yourself.

1. Your discipline dictates your success.

It's not always easy to make yourself study. Unfortunately, binge watching shows on Netflix is not going to help you pass your finals. Do keep putting it off. Sit down at your desk and just start. You have to be disciplined enough to do that. If you let everything slide you are not going to learn anything new.

2. You can't expect to succeed if you only put in work in the days you feel like it .

If you want to crush your finals you are going to have to put in the effort. That means you can't just study the night before and on the way to your class the next morning. There are plenty of effective ways to study the material for your courses. Find the right one for you and create a study plan that will leave you feeling prepared for your exams.

3. "Everything is hard before it is easy." -J.W. Goethe

If only things were always easy right away! Just remember that studying certain concepts for your classes may give you a headache, but take the time to learn them and then it will be easier to understand the more you acquire knowledge about the subject.

4. "The most effective way to do it is to do it." -Amelia Earhart

I think we are all guilty of trying to find ways to get our studying over with sooner. Maybe you skip a concept you convinced yourself you know enough about? Don't cut corners. You aren't helping yourself.

5. Everything is 'figureoutable.'

Just remember that you are smart enough to figure out whatever problem is sitting in front of you. Walk away for a second. Get a glass of water. Take a few breaths. Come back to your problem with a clear head.

6. You can only get better through action.

Unfortunately, we don't just wake up in the morning and magically know everything we need to for our finals. It would be amazing if life worked like that, but it doesn't. Instead you have to put in the effort to get better at something.

7. Stop doubting yourself. Work hard, and make it happen.

This affirmation may just sum up this entire article. It is precise and to the point. If you need a mantra to get you through your finals. . . this is it!

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.
