Soft blankets and warm beds may seem like a much more inviting alternative to the muggy gym on a Saturday morning, but don’t let the comfort fool you. By staying in bed and not getting a head start on your day, you’re much more likely to require caffeine and feel sluggish.
Before you go to bed, set an alarm for the next morning. Think of a workout routine that you actually like. Call a friend to keep you accountable and to have a workout buddy. Plan what you will have for breakfast so you’re not scrambling to grab something quick and unhealthy. Motivation is everything.
No matter how expensive your gym memberships or whether or not you have the newest running shoes, none of that matters when it comes to motivation. Getting up early sucks. Eating right sucks. Making sure you get enough sleep is annoying and can take a toll on your social life. But if you are motivated, none of this matters.
If you have drive and willingness to go after what you want, you can do whatever you want.
Washboard abs can get a lot of people going. Being able to go a day without coffee is a reason for others. Or maybe you just want to be able to walk up three flights of stairs without having to take a break.
No matter how big or small your goal may seem, as long as it gets you motivated it’s enough.
