Motivational sticky notes can give students the push they need to make it to the finish despite all the homework, projects and tests coming their way.

When students get worn out during the school year, they typically think about the winter, spring or summer break coming up very soon. But sometimes that break is just a little too far off to keep them going every day. Not everything in life is easy to everyone. Some people take more time to get over the hurdles that come their way.

A more unconventional way to stay encouraged is to make a wall of motivational sticky note wall. Find a new, positive phrase each day and write it on a sticky note. Post each sticky note in a place that will be seen every day, such as the closet door or bathroom mirror.

A number of studies show that positive words help make people stronger when faced with negative things like stress and adversity. As the number of sticky notes increases, the amount of positive reinforcement increases and will make students feel like they can make it through whatever comes their way. When adding a note, it feels like something bigger than oneself is being helped. Other people might see it and be motivated as well.

The sticky notes can also be arranged to make a certain shape like a heart or a house. They also can be arranged to spell out words like “dream,” “love” or “hope.” When making shapes, it’s a good idea to use sticky notes that are all the same color. Different colored sticky notes work if the goal is just to cover a general area.

Just the action of writing something positive on a sticky note can make a person feel happier or stronger. When writing quotes or motivational phrases, think about life goals that are to be achieved.

Aside from the sticky notes, students have their way of staying focused and driven. For some people, it's self-motivation. They want excellent jobs, houses and cars.

Other students think more of the physical wellness that goes into keeping them alert, inspired and determined. When they get lazy, it helps to see those motivational words or phrases that give an extra push.

No matter what the method of encouragement is, it’s always nice to have something to push someone the extra mile. Sometimes the smallest things help make the biggest impact on someone’s day or even their lives.

Bob's Burgers
Adult Swim

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.
