Here we are, folks; the home stretch! Finals week has finally approached and with that comes a boatload of stress and lack of sleep. Christmas break feels like it will never come, even though there are only a few days left. If you think of your final exams with a different perspective, though, you may just muster some motivation get through them.

1. Break Will Make You Broke

Sure, going home means escaping the food from the campus cafe and getting a nice, home cooked meal. But let's be honest, we are going to be going out with friends, shopping, going to the movies, etc. And all of this requires something many of us don't have....money. You may get lucky enough to earn some by working over break or get some cash for Christmas, but you will most likely blow it by the end of break. So take in these last few days of using your meal plan.

2. Going Back to Work

Most of us will have to go back to our minimum wage jobs over break, so take some time to enjoy the last few days of not going into work. Going back to work will also remind you that you are getting a degree for a reason. A degree in which requires a final exam each semester, but at least you'll eventually be making over $8/hr.

3. College Friends

Going home on break may seem great now, but before you know it, you will start to miss your college friends. You can't just walk down the hall when you need to rant and you will have to actually eat dinner with someone other than your roommate. At least right now all of your friends are in the same boat and you can cry about finals together over the pizza you ordered to your dorm.

4. Realizing You're Stronger Than You Thought

The entire week of finals you keep telling yourself there is absolutely no way that you can get everything you have to accomplished in this short amount of time. But miraculously, you always seem to accomplish it one way or another. Finals are just another reminder of how incredibly strong you are. You really don't give ourselves enough credit.

5. Fully Being Able to Relax

The idea that you can finally relax for a full three (or more) weeks should be motivation enough to get you through finals week. The semester will be over and you will be one step closer to graduating. There will be no over break assignments and you can actually take the time to relax without feeling guilty that you should be doing something else. Take a deep breath, take a lot of naps, and just get through it. I believe in you.

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. Ever heard of “pain is temporary, but GPA is forever?” Pre-meds don’t just embody that motto; we live and breathe it. Here are 10 symptoms you’re down with the pre-med student syndrome.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
