Hello Busy Bee,

You’re probably crunching on time right now to even take a second to read this, so I am going to get right into it. You’re doing great! Look at how much you’ve accomplished so far! Don’t let stress get you down. You’re capable of doing such great things! I know it’s nerve wrecking when you have a schedule from the moment your alarm clock wakes you to the moment you go to bed but stay positive. Just think of the future. Think about how every organization, internship and class is going to help you in achieving your goals. Think about all of the doors you are opening. Think of all of the friends you are making. Just take a moment to really think about everything you are doing and how it will all pay off.

I know there are days that staying in bed to hibernate sounds like the better choice and that’s completely okay to want to do that. Your stress levels may be through the roof, but take a deep breath. It’s all going to work out in the end. Being a busy bee can be great at times, but also ridiculously stressful. You want to be involved in as many extracurricular activities as you can and take a full course load of classes. You want to work so you can have money and you also want to have a social life. It’s hard being busy. Some people say you have too much on your plate, but you’re too stubborn to admit it. It’s okay, some of us other busy bees understand.

There are just a couple of things I want to make sure you remember before I say farewell. Remember to take breaks. Taking at least thirty minutes out of your day to relax is definitely needed. Whether you spend that time doing yoga, meditating, hanging out with some of your friends or even binge watching your favorite show on Netflix, take a break and enjoy it. Don’t stress about what you have to do after your little break. This is your time to fully forget about what’s due for your online class or what meeting you have to go to. It’s all about you and unwinding for a bit.

Remember that it is okay to not be able to do everything you want to. You aren’t a superhero that can be in ten different places at once, even though you may wish you could. You can complete anything that is on your “to-do” list. You are a smart, talented, amazing person. You have a good head on your shoulders. Don’t let anything get in your way, and don’t let anyone try to tell you otherwise. You can do anything your little heart desires as long as you put your all into it. I believe you can do it - better yet, I know you can do it. So get out there busy bee, the world is waiting for you!

Lots of luck with love xx

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
