This Mother's Day, I hope my mother realizes how much I am truly thankful for her and how much I need her. The older I get and the more I grow as a woman, I see her in me. From little quirks like twirling my hair, to always giving people the benefit of the doubt, her qualities I cannot deny.
Nothing can ever replace that comforting feeling that flows through you as your mother holds you in her arms. I am 21 years old, and I will still snuggle with my mommy and have her hold me just as if I was that 4-year-old little girl again. Whenever I need someone to talk to, she is always there to give me advice and support me. Her food is always amazing. Her recipes I only wish I could attempt to make. She is perfect in every way, and I could not be more blessed to have been raised by such an amazing woman.
From being in her womb for nine months to her putting up with me for 21 years, she has never given up on me. This woman has been by my side in some of the darkest moments of my life. She has held my hand through breakups, and let me cry in her arms for hours when I lost my childhood friend. She has shown me how to love myself and how to love others with the purest heart.
Thank you, Mom, for always putting your family first and making sure we have everything we need. But do not ever forget your worth. Do not ever forget how beautiful you are, how kind you are and how special you are. You could be told that 1,000 times a day, but it would never be enough.
You’ve raised two children, showing us right from wrong. You have even put up with Dad for many years, which is a task on its own. I wish I could give you the world, because you deserve it. You’ve supported me through school and told me to never give up. You’ve never judged me when I’ve made mistakes and felt ashamed.
Just know you are a wonderful mother, and I could not have been blessed with anything better. A mother’s love is something that can never be replaced. I am thankful I have gotten to have my mom in my life. Some people are not as lucky. One day I strive to be the mother that my mom is. She has proven to me that she was ready to have kids and that motherhood was her first priority. One day I hope my children will be lucky enough for me to be half as good of a mother as my own. I know they will have a very awesome grandma.
Thank you for everything you have done for me, Mom. I love you. I hope everyone has an amazing Mothers Day and that they stop and can be thankful for their mother.
