Mother Of The Year

She Deserves To Be Celebrated

Mother Of The Year

So many are celebrating their mother today because of Mother's Day, however, I celebrate my mother everyday. My mom has been my rock when I felt like sinking. She has been there through so many tough times in my life and has sacrificed so much. This extraordinary woman who got married at age 17 and had me at twenty-one and never complained. She was there for me when I felt like giving up. She was there for me when daddy walked out and instead of giving up,she took care of 3 bad kids on her own. Mamma had to work 2 jobs just to support us and pay the household bills. When we didn't have enough food, mamma gave us her portion and went to bed hungry. This lady worked in someone's tobacco field so we could have clothes for school. While we rocked the best, she had to wear old clothes because all o her money went on us. She was out mother and father. Even though Mother's Day was on May 8th, I celebrate my mother's everyday I am so blessed and fortunate to have her in my life. No, my mother is not perfect, but God's strength is made perfect in weakness ( 2 Corinthians 12:9 ). I love you mommy and thanks for everything.

Mother's Love

She rubbed my head when I was feeling bad

She comforted me when I was sad

She cheered me up when I was down

and when I needed her she was always around

Accepted my mistakes and punish me in love

A representation of God above

Held my hand when I was scared, letting me know that she cared

Tucked me In, gave me a kiss goodnight

Whispered softly...Lord protect her through the night

A mother's love a cure for the pain

A shelter and umbrella from the rain

I love my mother and this she knows

She carries my heart whenever she goes.

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
