Lately in the news, there have been tons of rumors and reports of divorce. Almost every time I've listened to the radio this week, all the talk has surrounded celebrity couples splitting up. However after this celebrity breakup, I think it's safe to say all hope is gone for all other couples. Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog are ending their relationship.

OMG. I know, it's tragic.

Many of us have grown up with the Muppets and we all laughed when Miss Piggy would yell at Kermit for something ridiculous, but then attack him with hugs and kisses. They were probably the cutest couple of all time, and they were even together for 40 years. Below is a screenshot from Kermit's Facebook page, where he announced the dreadful news of their split.

Even though it is slightly ironic that this split occurred right before the premiere of the series, "The Muppets," sources have confirmed that this was not just a publicity stunt. Actor Alan Cumming had tweeted to Miss Piggy saying he was upset that they split and hoped it wasn't for publicity. She replied to him via twitter saying, "As much as moi loves a good publicity stunt, this is not one! Let your cute, single friends know, kay?"

Well there you have it. Miss Piggy is still the same, self-centered pig and Kermit is still that lovable frog. It'll be interesting to see how these two interact on the new Muppets series. According to sources, this new take on "The Muppets" will be like nothing in the past. It has an adult-spin on the old classic and it will be something new and different. Maybe a new muppet suitor will take his chances at winning Miss Piggy's heart? Or maybe Kermit will find a new love interest? In the world of Muppets, you never know!
