Hi all, here are a couple of my favorite drugstore brands, and a product from each brand that I love! Happy shopping!
1. Covergirl
Covergirl is my all-time favorite drugstore brand, and by far, the one I use the most. My favorite/everyday foundation, concealer and BB cream are actually from Covergirl! Covergirl is extremely affordable and easy to find at most drugstores, which is why it's surely a crowd favorite. My favorite recommendation from Covergirl is the matte BB cream. This is my most recommended product because it's so light and very blendable, and it also doesn’t tend to look cakey with powder.
2. ELF
I love ELF for their brushes mainly, but also for their highlight (even though the package is technically labeled as a blush). The ELF BB cream is also really good if you have sensitive skin and want something with medium to full coverage with some SPF. The ELF brushes are my favorite because they can be found at nearly any drugstore and they’re also super inexpensive, which makes them great to travel with, in case anything should happen to them! My favorite brush from ELF is the blending brush; I use it for all of my cream products, such as BB cream and liquid foundation. I also love using the powder brush! Bonus, ELF is also cruelty free!
3. Dove
Dove has been the only soap that’s been used on me since I was a baby. My mom practically swears by it, and my whole life, there’s been a bar of white Dove soap in the shower. Dove is so reliable to keep your skin moisturized without harming those with sensitive skin. I really can’t use anything other than the Dove without the inside of my elbows and knees flaring up in a rash. Dove is perfect for all skin types, and offers a wide variety of scents to everyone’s liking. My favorite scents (and good ones to try) are the white moisture bars and the sweet cream scented bars.
4. Dr. Teal's
Aside from Dove, Dr. Teal’s seems to be one of the few things that won’t bother my skin. The Relax and Relief line is highly scented and very gentle, and handfuls of the Epsom salt work amazing for whole body exfoliation. The Soothe and Sleep Body Oil is also a great addition to any night routine for even the most restless nights.
5. Lubriderm
This one was recommended to me by a family friend who works in the medical field. She told me that since it was dermatologist developed, it was a crowd favorite, and boy, was she right! It’s so gentle, but also leaves my skin feeling so nice and soft without a greasy film. It’s light enough to use during the day, but still moisturizes enough for the whole day. There is no need to touch up or reapply; I put it on after a shower, and my skin is silky smooth and moisturized until I shower it off! My favorite Lubriderm lotion is the Advanced Therapy bottle with the red label.
6. NYX
NYX can be found at most drugstores, but also at Ulta for a fairly reasonable price. NYX is great because it’s known to be highly comparable to certain high end products that could cost you a small fortune in the makeup store. The price and color pay off are extremely worth it, especially for the Matte But Not Flat foundation, which is my personal favorite, mainly because it’s a comparable dupe to the Rimmel 24 Hour Finish Foundation that used to be made in the black squeezy bottle packaging (if you remember when it was out). NYX is also rumored to be cruelty free!
