Studying abroad is exciting as much as it is nerve racking and if you do not know where to look for helpful resources, it can be stressful and overwhelming. It took me a long time to find housing, plane tickets, etc. because I did not know where to look. Here are a few helpful websites for anybody thinking about studying abroad!

If you are looking for airline tickets, major airlines can be thousands of dollars, especially if you do it last minute the way that I did. When I was looking at ones like American, United, etc. most of the tickets were toward the upper of $2000. I finally found a website called statravel.com which sells major airline tickets to full-time students at a much lower cost. The nice part about this website and what appealed to me was the fact that they are mainly major airlines so it does not seem sketchy and most flights only have one layover, many of which are still in the states!

Finding a place to live is what I found the most stressful, there are so many options and everything is in different currency, etc. studyabroadapartments.com is very easy to navigate and has amazing apartments up for rent. If anyone is going to Madrid, which I am, I found mine through atmospherelivingsl.com and they have agents who email you and get back very quickly.

Another amazing website full of internships, language help, blogs, etc. is https://www.studyabroad.com/ This website is one of the most amazing and diverse websites for information that I have come across in my searches on google for information. It has tabs to select your country, what you are looking for, your language and more. Anything you need or are looking for can be found and answered through this website. They have a blog section and speaking of blogs, reading other study abroad blogs including these, have really helped calm my nerves.

Overall, there are so many websites out there for any liking you may have, these are the ones that have made my process go smoothly and make my transition less nerve-racking already!

Friendship. It's defined as the state of being attached to another person by feelings of affection or personal regard, but what really is friendship? Is it that occasional hallway talk with that one person who always manages to cheer you up? Is it that relationship you have with someone where they can be gone for a long period of time, but when they come back, it's like they never left? Is it spending every waking hour with someone, and knowing every detail about their life? Is it the relationship that's filled with fighting, but filled with even more resolution? I've learned that it's all of these things, and every friendship is different. It's a beautifully dysfunctional mess that should always be cherished and never be taken for granted.
