When you are in college, there are certain moments that none of us can contain our excitement. It can literally be the most random of things, and yet we still “can’t even." The moments that shorten our breath, speed up our heart rates, drop our stomachs, and leave us in awe of the life we are living. No, they aren’t the greatest moments, but they are moments in life that we know we are destined to have at least once. This is the initial test for “adulting” and how we handle these times determines whether we pass or fail. Yay reality!

1. The moment when a professor tells you the exam will be open book. It’s like a breath of fresh air for the people who just don’t study (cough cough…me)

2. The times when you all decide to buy Chacos, hammocks, or ukuleles, and then suddenly you have this hipster cult that is oh-so Instagram-worthy.

3. Or, that time when you find out that class is cancelled on the day you are running so late you almost forget shoes. You know what I’m talking about, don’t act like shoes are the first thing on your mind when you’re late.

4. That moment when the cafeteria decides to have awesome, FULLY EDIBLE food! It’s like HALLELUJAH PRAISE JESUS!

5. Those days when you realize you have free time, and that means binge-watching a Netflix series—because why not?

6. The horrifying moment you realize you want to change your major, and you already wasted two semesters on what you had currently been pursuing.

7. The time that you are rushing to write a paper due by midnight, and get it done just in time, because let's face it, who actually does those types of papers?

8. Then there is that moment when you actually score in an intramural sports game! (cue singing ALL I DO IS WIN, WIN NO MATTER WHAT, GOT MONEY ON MY MIND, CAN’T EVER GET ENOUGH!)

9. And don’t forget the day before finals when you actually go to bed on time, and realize what it feels like to get your life together. I personally never feel more adult than when I go to bed at the same time my parents would.

9. The hilarious moment that you think the incoming freshman taking a tour, are so cute and clueless, and you can’t decide whether to yell either: “Welcome to College!” or “Run! It’s a trap!”

10. And finally, the day that starts out crap, but great friends bring you a snack and make you laugh till you can’t breathe; those are the moments worth living for! I’m just saying, gummy bears, Powerade and good friends are the difference between going to bed smiling, and crying in the bathroom Skyping your cat.

Let’s face it, college can be crazy, random, hard and confusing. The moments like these, and so many more are what makes it so worth living and enjoying the crazy ride! But if you are anything like me, you know you wouldn’t trade a moment of it!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
