As you get older, friends come and go. People leave your life after high school and new ones come in. Your best friend might be someone you've known since you were three, or it might be someone you met in high school or college. Some friends come to stay for a season and some stay for a lifetime. Some people come into your life to teach you something and after that lesson has been learned, they leave your circle. Yet, there are some people that grow from being just a friend to being a person you can depend on for anything.
Having the right people in your life might be the most important thing I've learned over the past few years. Whether you realize it or not, you are a product of the five people you spend the most time with. If you don't think so, check out the article I've linked! We constantly spend time with the same people and slowly but surely they make or break us. Hopefully, you surround yourself with people who make you better, or at least make you want to be better. We all have flaws, but finding people who accept you with your flaws anyway is life-changing.
As you get older, it becomes even more important to have people that will be there for you at all hours for anything you need. Knowing that there are people that are a phone call and a car ride away when you need them is the most comforting feeling. A lot of us are away at college so we can call our parents or our siblings, but they can't really do much for us sometimes because we are "adults" running the show now. These past few months, I've become increasingly grateful for my inner circle of beautiful souls. I am now aware, more than ever, that these friends come to my rescue for anything, hold my hand through it all and love me unconditionally. I am forever thankful for my family away from my family.
With all of this, I realized how important it was to tell these people how thankful you were for them and to never hang up the phone without telling them you love them (this goes for family as well). So here's to my incredible friends, I love you all!
