Dear Jessica,
When we first met it was my sophomore year of high school. The first day of band camp we ate lunch together and we got the chance to know each other a bit. Our first band show was called "The British invasion". At the time I was dating your friend Keiran. Almost every day we met up by the school store window waiting for her; we got the chance to know each other more and we found that we've got some things in common like we both really like Pokemon. You and Don would always take me every Saturday to go to the Dover Public Library to go play Pokemon which opened up new friendships. Without you I've wouldn't have been part of a "squad".
You've introduced the idea and helped me get into my first ever musical role "sir Harold" in "Once Upon a Mattress"; without you doing that I would have never ever been able to get up on stage to act, sing and dance. You helped me break out of my shell of stage fright and my terrible shyness. We have been through so much together. We've been through many plays and musicals like Dracula, Shrek The Musical, Aladdin, the Music Man and that little kid show that our drama director made.
Through those times you've always been there for me no matter how much trouble I've been in. You have been there even when I graduated and you accept me in every way possible. And even after I graduated from Milford High School you still were the better friendships that I've kept. We dated and I had the most amazing time ever. Then when I came out of the closet as a flamboyant homosexual you still accepted me in the most amazing way possible and we are still the greatest of friends. You have not treated me any different since I came out. From dancing like a fool to cracking jokes, I may not have seemed like I was the greatest of friends at times but you still put up with me.
Now it is your turn to graduate. Throughout your senior year, I've watched you grow into the beautiful woman you are now. I am so proud of you. You truly deserve to be my best friend. You did great in your roles in "Tarzan the Musical" and "The Secret Garden." Even though you're going to UD to study English I know that we will still be friends for many more years to come. I would like to thank you for bringing me to your senior prom and I hope that we stay in touch. Without you I have wouldn't be who I am today. Despite the hard times that you and I went through together, nothing will break our friendship.
I would also like to take this moment to say yas girl get the high school diploma and that tassel. You strut down that football field; trust me I will bring those air horns.
Now back to being more serious. There is nothing in this world that I can say or do that will tell you how thankful I am that you've come to my life. I hope that your future at UD will be a marvelous one and when you get your bachelor's degree in English maybe you and I can teach at the same high school together and party. Also, to your mother and Don: there is no more I can say to thank you as well.
So in conclusion, thank you, Jessica Criegh for being there. To many many more years of friendship; maybe we can grow old together like the Golden Girls. We'll be like the 'friends until the end' kind of story.
