Morticia Addams: the fashion and sensuality lessons she gave us

What does it mean to be a fashion icon? The answer can be summarized in the television character, Morticia Addams, who with her 'goth style' revealed the most sensual side of a woman.

One of the best-known concepts of beauty dates back to the Middle Ages. This is where everything that was harmonious and maintained proportions was considered beautiful. This idea was changing over the centuries and it was when the importance of the subjective, that is, the viewer and his personal tastes, began to be given importance. This new concept of beauty has its highest representative in Romanticism (at the end of the Modern Age), in which the beautiful is a feeling that wakes up in the observer. Beauty is experienced and is not necessarily aesthetic and harmonious, but changing. Beautiful can be everything, the extravagant, and the unusual and is based on the independence of each person that contemplates.

Do you remember that black dress that Angelina Jolie used to receive her Oscar Award? One of the most flattering pieces at the time was the result of inspiration in a television character, who?, the mother who does not tell stories with happy endings to not terrify their children: Morticia Addams.

She, who had an impeccable look (for some boring and the same) in the series "The Addams Family", has become an icon of fashion over the years. And it has left us a lesson in beauty and sensuality since its premiere on the small screen for that year 1964.

There were two actresses who have immortalized the style of this character. Carolyn Jones in the black and white series, and Anjelica Huston in the films that bore the same name. That unmistakable 'goth style' has left us some lessons that we do or should practice at some point in our lives. Here some of them:

1 The red blood color combines with all

Morticia Addams, the beauty icon patented the use of the match between red nails and lips. And yes, it looked extremely amazing and sensual. Remember that the reddish tones symbolize passion and courage, not bad.

2 The neckline

One detail that came to light was the subtle neckline he had, which did not show much, just enough ;)

3 Do not be afraid of dresses

I'm very short, tall, plump, then forget about that! If you like a dress, use it. Who knows and that could be your next style, besides being super comfortable.

4 Long black hair like the same night

Do not you know what to do with your hair? Before cutting it, try taking it lose. And if you have brown flashes you can apply a dye so that it is all black or with blue lighting.

5 The delineation is your best ally

Classic or pin-up? Leave your shadows for a moment and practice a natural look with a simple outline, so that your lips remain as the only protagonists. Since we talked about makeup, if you thought Kim Kardashian was the queen of the contour, then you're wrong. Morticia was a pioneer and if she knew how to take it.

eye roll

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

Yify

Another day, another Elle Woods comment. Can’t us blondes get through the day without someone harping at us over the typical stereotypes about who we are? I never understood why a person was judged based upon the hair color they were born with, or the hair color they choose to have (unless you dye your hair blue like Kylie Jenner, I’m still trying to understand why that’s a trend). Nevertheless, as it should be assumed, not everyone is the same. Not all blondes like bright colors and Lilly Pulitzer, and not all blondes claim to identify with Marilyn Monroe. I think the best suggestion to give to people before they make such radical claims is to stop judging a book by its cover. Or in this case, stop judging a blonde by her hair color.

15 Things That Happen On Your Birthday

Do you have a small get-together or throw a big bash?

birthday party

My birthday has never been my favorite holiday. I've found that I'm more excited to celebrate my friends' and family members' birthdays more than my own. I don't like being the center of attention, so I usually celebrate over dinner with a small group of family and friends. This way, I can enjoy myself naturally without feeling like I have to entertain everyone and make sure they are satisfied. In the past when I've had large parties, I was so nervous that people weren't perfectly content that I didn't enjoy myself at my own celebration.
