Waking up early in the morning can be hard, especially when you have to several days in a row. Each morning you swear that you will start going to bed earlier, but then you get a random burst of energy and are up all night binge watching your favorite Netflix series. If that sounds like you, I have a few ways you can use that nighttime energy to save yourself a few extra minutes in the morning, and hopefully catch a few more minutes to sleep.
1. Check the next day's weather, and pick out your clothes at night
Shirt, pants, socks, and yes even your underwear. If you're one of the many people who will try on ten different outfits to find the perfect "lazy day outfit" this will come in handy. Even if you aren't, and are one of those people who have zero things organized, it can save you time by not needing to find a matching sock.
2. Prepare your morning drink
Fill your refillable k-cup with your favorite coffee, or get the fruits out for your morning smoothie. Even get out your thermal or cup ready so that you aren't looking or cleaning one out in the morning.
3. Ignore your phone
Checking Twitter right when you wake up probably isn't a necessity. Neither is responding to your texts from the night before. Just save that for your lunch break!
4. Have specific spots for things like your coat, purse, wallet and car keys
How many times have you almost been late to something because you can't find your car keys? Too many to probably count.
5. Lay off the products
Try to not get caught up in doing your hair or make-up. Remember that sometimes less can be more.
6. Brush your teeth in the shower
Not only will this save water, it will save your time.
7. Write a morning routine list
This way you don't have to spend time wondering if you forgot to grab or do something.
Some of these things might seem really simple, and almost pointless to do, but just remember that each minute can add up. Try these things out and you just might be able to set your alarm back a couple minutes, and doesn't that sound nice?
