Frankly, you can't go on Pinterest these days without seeing MHN's signature watercolors and script. I have entire Pinterest boards dedicated to her work. Most of the time, I go to these boards for solace in trying times or when I just need a little pick me up. She reminds me to have grace even when times are tough; this is a welcome break from trite "be positive" quotes.
1. For when you need a reminder of how ~amazing~ you are.
Morgan Harper Nichols
Sometimes, we all need a reminder that we have value. We see ourselves as less than the people around us and do not grant ourselves the same grace we give to others.
2. For when you just need some time to recharge and reflect.
Morgan Harper Nichols
In the digital age and with the immense pressure of perfection from social media, it's easy to have FOMO (fear of missing out) on the weekends. It's disheartening to see people traveling the world and making big life changes while stuck in the monotony of routine. However, it is important to realize that your life's value is not based on how many times you go out in one weekend.
3. For when you're feeling pressure or constrained by uncontrollable forces.
Morgan Harper Nichols
Always remember that you have the power to change your life and you have the power to reach for your dreams and follow your passions. Often, we feel stuck because of things that feel out of our control. I urge you to push past these boundaries and discover that maybe you put up these walls; you have the power to break them down.
4. For when you need to be reminded that courage can be shown in little ways.
Morgan Harper Nichols
We all have struggles in our life, whether that be with work, relationships, or even identity. Just know that you have courage because you keep going. You have survived 100% of your worst days and that requires so much courage.
5. For when you need to be reminded of what really matters.
Morgan Harper Nichols
Keep things in your life that help you grow. It's important to recognize and know when to cut out things that are toxic to you.
While it may seem silly, seeing MHN's words on Twitter or Pinterest immediately brighten my day. They make me remember how far I have come in my own journey of self-discovery and how proud I am to be in the place I am today.
