More Than Locker Room Talk

What kind of character are you voting for?

Locker room talk is I can deadlift 300 pounds. Locker room talk is I'm so sore from that jog. Locker room talk is not degrading women. It is not looking at women as a trophy or an object for you to take. It is not going back to primary roots and degrading women. Locker room talk is not being a disgrace to the very women who raised you.

In a world of change and progressive thinking, women are still viewed as objects. Women are still having their name slandered because of male expectations. Women are judged by their bodies. They are viewed negatively based on their sexuality. Men are still living in a world of underlying agendas to get women to compromise their values. The ideal woman is one who has values, but not values so set in stone that a man can't play her emotions like a fiddle.

I want to date a guy who does not look at me as a sexual object. I want to marry a man who doesn't resort to degrading women based on their appearance. I want to have a son that I have raised to respect women and not resort to such a terrible thing as locker room talk.

I question the future if a man who will possibly be running this country looks at women as a sexual agenda. I thought I lived in a world where the president was striving to be a role model. I thought being president was about looking to the younger generation to help them build a better tomorrow. I hope that the younger generation doesn't look to him for what I leader should be.

The term locker room talk is not an excuse for being a pig. You can't be a feminist when you are on the stage with a strong female yet be in the dark ages when you are around your boys. You can't say you support women just to get the female vote. You can't throw your daughter out to the public to hope she can get women on your side. You can't expect the American people to look at you as a leader if the only thing you are leading in is scandals. Somewhere along the lines your character started to show through the locker room talk and into the arena

Women are a prize. They are not something to be conquered. They are not sexual objects walking around for a male's visual pleasure. They are souls with thoughts and feelings. These women are your mother, your sister, your daughter. They are not locker room talk. Mr. Trump, if all you are is locker room talk maybe that is where you should stay.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
