Dating can be intimidating, especially when with someone who you don't know. Dating your best friend is fundamentally different from normal dating. You are not only with someone who you know, but the term "dating" takes on a whole new meaning.

1. You already know each other.

There is nothing to hide from each other, as they know all of the good and bad things about you already. They know all of your quirks and you know all of theirs.

2. You are already comfortable with each other.

You already know each other, so you are already completely comfortable with each other. You don't have to worry about them being disgusted by any of your habits.

3. You can be alone together.

You can be together in the same room and sit in silence comfortably.

4. You genuinely make each other happy.

Not only are you happy together, but you also begin to notice little things that your partner says and does that makes you incredibly happy. The same then goes for them.

5. You learn things about each other without realizing it.

You begin to do things almost instinctively. You know how they like their coffee, their favorite t-shirt, and what they order from particular restaurants.

6. Not much changes.

While there are some differences in interaction between the two of you, you stay exactly the same for the most part.

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2024, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."
