More Than A Friend, But A Sister

Thanks for always being there for me.

More Than A Friend, But A Sister
Hannah Booker

Friends are hard to find, and a life-long friend is even harder to snag on to.

“A strong friendship doesn’t need daily conversation or being together. As long as the relationship lives in the heart, true friends never part.”

I love this quote, and it really is so true that you don’t have to talk or be together on a daily basis, but when it’s a true friend you are able to pick up right where you left off.

So here’s a thank you to the friends that aren’t just a friend, but a true friend. A sister.

  • 1.You could have a million things to do but if I text you to vent, or call you because I need you, you are always there for me.
  • 2.Distance doesn’t mean anything in our relationship
  • 3.Looking forward to each others futures
  • 4.Thanks for always encouraging me

True friends are the ones who sometimes put our needs before their own. They would drop everything to help you when you need it the most. If my car was breaking down on the highway, I know they would come rescue me. If my heart was broken, I know they would do everything they can to help put it back together. They truly care and for that I’ll be forever grateful.

I may live hundreds of miles apart from you, or I may even just live twenty minutes down the road. Either way, we make distance work. Just because we can’t hop in our car and be over in a second like we may have been able to do at some point, we still make an effort to see each other when we can, and when we see each other it feels like we had never been apart at all.

As we get older, our futures are so exciting. Of course we think about our own all the time, but I truly look forward to being a part of your future as well. Whether it’s a wedding, a new job, having kids, buying a house, it doesn’t matter. A true friend stands by your side through it all.

True friends don’t bring you down, they lift you up. Throughout my life, I’ve had friends that have made me feel low, and now that I know what it means to have true friends I’ll never settle for that type of friend again. True friends will never give you unnecessary advice, they will encourage you always, and help you strive to be the best version of yourself that you can be. They show you that settling shouldn’t be an option, they help you with pros and cons in life, they wipe your tears when you are upset, and they come stay with you when a girl’s night is just what you need.

The girls that I have in my life are such a blessing.

It’s amazing how God places the perfect people in our life, and causes our paths to cross. I wouldn’t trade the girls I call my sisters for the world. Through whatever life may throw at us, just know that you always have a friend in me. No matter what time of day or night it is, I’ll always be here for you and I know you'll always do the same for me.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
