In the past year, such a craze has sprung up in the media of outrageously delicious foods. Whether it’s tater tot nachos, deep dish pizza or deep fried mac and cheese, the rage to find these foods has gotten crazy.
Every time I log onto my Facebook account there is another video about another crazy, new, innovative meal from some part of the world waiting to be traveled to and to be eaten.
It is an undeniable trait as an American to be a fellow cheese lover. I mean, c’mon wouldn’t you rather want a grilled cheese rather than just plain toast or a 5 cheese mac and cheese rather than just pasta and butter?
The obsession has only gotten bigger and bigger, but personally, I am not mad about it.
Growing up I was always a big fan of plain old Velveeta mac and cheese, but nowadays that would be considered “basic” or “subpar.”
The more videos I see of cheesy drenched foods the more often I look up airline tickets to meet these destinations. Here are a few of the places I one day hope to find.
1. The Mac Factory
The Mac Factory is most definitely a place to put on your bucket list. It’s located in London and serves personal sized cups of mac and cheese with whichever toppings and ingredients for your taste buds likings. What more could you really ask for?
2. Chicago Pizza & Oven Grinder Company
The Chicago Pizza & Oven Grinder Company is the definition of the best of both worlds. They thought of the brilliant idea to include Chicago-style pizza with pot pie. BRILLIANT! The pie includes cheese, vegetables, and their special tomato sauce. Now, this is what I call a game changer.
3. Raclette NYC
The Raclette NYC is one of the most popular, cheesiest restaurants in the city. The Raclette style was born in Switzerland and has become a crowd favorite in the U.S., especially in the big apple. This wheel of cheese is melted and poured onto any meal to overflow your meal and mouth with as much melted cheese as possible. This is what I like to call “iconic.”
4. Mac Mart
Mac Mart is located in Philadelphia and is know to be the “first and only “Mac’n Cheesery” in Philly. This place offers an array of mac and cheese bowls including buffalo, barbecue, corn dog and even crab. One of their most popular items is the Philly cheese steak with mac and cheese, I mean look at the beauty. This bad boy is picture perfect and most definitely would be worth the calories.
Now pack your bags, get your tickets and make sure you're on an empty stomach cause now you can finally go eat at the cheesiest restaurants in the world! I'll meet you cheese lovers there!
