More Beautiful You

I wanted to take Jonny Diaz's song More Beautiful You and apply it to everyone.

More Beautiful You
we know your dreams

This is something that I've never done, but I really wanted to try it. I'm going to pick a song and analyze it. Not like classically analyzing a Bach Sonata for chords and form, but figure the meaning out and explain what this song means to me. I hope that maybe you can start to think a little deeper about your favorite songs. I know that I'm trying to think a little deeper as well. So, out of all of my favorite songs, which one should I pick? It's hard because I have many that have done so many thing for me through different times in my life. The one I'm going to choose this time is More Beautiful You by Jonny Diaz.

This song is about how there isn't a more beautiful you. We as people find flaws with ourselves. We are the first ones to spot the bad things about us and the last ones to admit that there is any good. In the end, it ends with us realizing that we are beautiful. It also talks about how there's someone who loves us and that he is able to take how we look at the world and look at it with an innocence. I a lot of people, including me miss looking at this world with a love and innocence.

So both verses start with a girl. the first verse the girl is 14 the second one she is 21 and it's all about how they are trying to achieve society's version of beauty. I can't tell you how many times I've looked through a magazine or at other girls around me wishing and hoping that I'd look like them one. And I can't tell you how many times that i felt like if looked different or acted different that I would be loved. But there are people who love you because you are you. Society version of beauty is very messed up so don't worry if you don't look like the cover of a magazine.

The bridge is my favorite part. I love that it says that we aren't too far to back away and to change and that we are still able to take are dark distorted view of this world and look at it as if we were children again. It's one of the most true things that I hear. One day, we will all be able to see this world and ourselves through our child selves because that's who we really are. We are the innocence of a child. We shouldn't have to be wrapped up in how we look or what type of person we are. I know this is cliche, but all are so beautiful in our own ways. Like the song says, there could never be a more beautiful you. It doesn't matter the lies that the world or society tells you. You shouldn't have to jump through hoops to be beautiful. You don't have to. Because there could never be a more beautiful you. Out of the seven and half billion people in this world, there is only one you.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
