Life is a rollercoaster. It has ups and downs, those butterfly moments where all you can see if straight down, and it has the curves that throw you off your game for a while before bouncing back. However, the one constant in life is something that people hear everywhere but never acknowledge properly: music.

Music is the thing that truly brings people together; it breaks language barriers, offers hugs, and even lets people express themselves with all the different genres and interpretations that one can pull out of it. It's the one universal constant in a world that is always changing, and there are so many songs to explain what any one person is feeling at any moment. However, finding the right song to describe your mood is hard sometimes when all you can feel is that one emotion, so below is a list of emotions paired with songs that I listen to when I'm feeling that way.

1. Joy/Happiness.

"Sadie Hawkins Dance" by Reliant K
"King" by Years & Years
"Livewire" by Oh Wonder
"YOUTH" by Troye Sivan

2. Sadness

"Cry" by Kelly Clarkson
"You're Not Alone" by Owl City, ft. Britt Nicole
"Sight of the Sun" by fun.
"Kiss It Better" by He is We

3. Broken hearted.

"Poison & Wine" by The Civil Wars
"Still Into You" by Paramore
"Drive" by Oh Wonder
"Still In Love With You" by The Jonas Brothers

4. In love.

"Unconditionally" by Katy Perry
"Photograph" by Ed Sheeran
"The Girl" by City and Colour
"Lovebug" by The Jonas Brothers

5. Angsty/Nostalgic

"Misery Business" by Paramore
"Dance, Dance" by Fall Out Boy
"Dirty Little Secret" by All American Rejects
"Welcome To The Black Parade" by My Chemical Romance

6. Calm

"Elevated" by State Champs (Acoustic)
"Our July In The Rain" by He is We
"Funeral" by Lukas Graham
"Swoon" by Beach Weather

So, when you're experiencing some emotions and don't know what to listen to, find this article and tune in to a song. They all describe a wide range of emotions, and you never know when you'll need to find the perfect song. And remember: music is, quite literally, the answer to everything in the entire universe. Don't forget that.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
