10 Songs Currently On My 'Mood' Playlist
Eliza Thompson via Cosmopolitan

To lighten the mood up for the week (especially for me, since I'm finally done with school and need some relaxation time) I’m going to share with you all my latest Apple Music playlist, and why I chose the songs that I jam to periodically throughout the day. Some of the songs you all may, or may not, know. My current playlist is called “Mood,” because I change out the songs depending on my mood at the time. I’m just going to post my top ten--the most played out of this playlist. So let’ get started!

1. "Slumber Party" - Britney Spears ft. Tinashe

This song I just fell in love with on Britney’s album “Glory.” More than that, I like Tinashe too… and the video was everything! I don’t have to even imagine much except that I'm in that video.

2. "Hands Free" - Keke Palmer

Other than the fact that I love how freaky Keke Palmer is, this song just makes me want to dance. Then when you really listen to the lyrics… Yeah, this song is exactly what you think it’s about. The rest of Keke’s Ep “Lauren” is on this playlist too, and I love them all for different reasons.

3. "Vines (Interlude)" - Dawn Richard ft. PJ Morton

This song just makes me daydream while listening to it. The message in it is so clear to me as I listen to it. It’s basically the story of someone who doesn’t want to live life alone forever, but won’t just settle for anything or anyone. It’s more or less about taking chances as well, and I’m a big romantic so that’s probably why I like it so much.

4. "Hotter Than Hell" - Dua Lipa

This song just makes me feel sassy and fun. Kinda reminds me of a "Jennifer’s Body" type deal, minus the whole eating boys thing.

5. "Enemiez"- Keke Palmer ft. Jeremih

This song gives me a modern, upbeat “Romeo and Juliet” type vibe. That forbidden love that you want, even though you know you shouldn’t. As Keke croons out, “This ain’t enough for me / Gotta be honest I want you to lust for me / And if we’re just friends I’d rather be your enemy. So we can do all the things you’re holding back from me / So let’s be enemies.”

6. "High Heels" - JoJo

You ever had a boyfriend/girlfriend that you found out was cheating? Instead of being alone and crying, JoJo wants to put on her high heels and party. Make that idiot realize what he or she messed up on and make him or her regret it!

7. "Ain't My Fault" - Zara Larrson

For some reason this song makes me think of a forbidden student/teacher relationship. Kinda like Ezria from Pretty Little Liars. Not that I’m condoning this type of behavior, but it is very catchy.

8. "Lookin' Like That" - Jordan Fisher

I like this one because it kinda makes me feel good. A guy singing about how he can’t stop looking at you, and he wants you? Who doesn’t like being loved and adored? The beat of the song is pretty good too, and his voice is just… very interesting to me.

9. "Give It Up" - Nathan Sykes ft. G-Eazy

For some reason this guy’s voice reminds me of Usher's, but the younger Usher's voice, before he got into the whole techno/dance music thing. That’s more than enough for me to like the song, but it’s pretty catchy.

10. "Honest" - JoJo

JoJo’s entire album “Mad Love” just totally gets me. This song especially. Like, I hate someone who gets mad when you’re doing the exact same thing that they’re doing. She sings it best, “I might not be what you wanted, but at least I’m honest… at least I’m honest.”

The rest of the songs on my playlist include “24k Magic” by Bruno Mars, “FAB,” “Edibles,” “Good Thing,” and “Like This” by JoJo, “Pressure,” “Got Me F****d Up,” and “Jealous” by Keke Palmer, “Sex With Me” by Rihanna, “Clumsy,” and “Love Me Down” by Britney Spears, and I also included a few songs from Dawn Richard's "Redemption" album. I usually like to keep an even number of songs, so 26 is a good number for me! Hope you all enjoy this, and possibly find some new songs that you will grow to love. If you have any songs you think I may like to hear, feel free to e-mail or message me! I love to be introduced to new things!

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
