A Month in Greece: February

Summary of my travels so far.

A Month in Greece: February

It has been a complete month on my study abroad in Athens, Greece. And boy has it been a month! I have been so many places in one month, it's honestly overwhelming. There is a total of 13 students on my trip. The program is faculty led so we do not go to a university or school. We have our classes at a place called the Athens Centre. People from all over the world come to study at this centre. My classes are no more than the 13 students o the trip. A very big change from a typical Penn State class room.

A typical day would consist of waking up, going to class, grabbing a snack at our favorite bakery or kebab place and then back to the apartment to study or hang out. We have traveled into the heart of the city to explore, grab coffee and get the full experience. We even made a trip to see the best soccer team in the Greece league, Olympicacos! Their student section may be crazier than the student section at Penn State football games!

A group of us decided to do a day trip to Aegina, a island off of southern Greece. So beautiful! It was a much slower pace than Athens, but it was absolutely breathe taking. We visited to archaeological sites and spent the day walking around exploring the island. We actually met a Penn State alum!

Throughout this trip we have made three weekend trips. Every day of those trips were jam packed with sites, food and museums. We have been to Nafplio, Delphi, Thebes and Thessaloniki. Those are the main cities but we went to smaller cities and towns along the way. Here are some pictures from each place!

There will be many more adventures in the next few months. I'll have even more summary articles about my trip. I'm studying in one of the most beautiful countries in the world!

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
