A Month Of Bullet Journaling: Week One

I'm trying this thing called bullet journaling in hopes to reign my crazy life.

In case you missed how I prepped or why I'm doing this - check out my first week here: A Month Of Bullet Journaling: The Prep

Anyway.

This week I attempted to make myself actually use my planner (well the planner portion of this adventure) and find other ways to use the journal everyday.

Was I successful? Not completely. I was more successful than I have been with previous planners, though. Because I knew that I put a lot of time and energy into actually making this setup, I actually seemed to look at it and use it more often. So here's what I liked and didn't:

LIKES

- I got to create this entire thing myself. All the colors and design were completely up to me and I could do whatever I wanted to with it.

- I felt more organized. Because I drew, decorated and organized everything myself, I definitely felt like everything I wanted and needed in the planner was there. I knew if I looked at my journal, it would easily display any information I needed right away.

- I'm glad I moved some of the recipes I want to try from Pinterest to my journal. (I just wish I had made them.)

DISLIKES

- Even though I thoughtI liked the setup of the week, I actually hated it. Maybe it's something I could expand on the actual design, but it wasn't anything special and it didn't help me at all when I needed to know times.

- I wanted it to be as aesthetically pleasing as everything on Instagram and Pinterest are. So my design needs to improve.

- There wasn't really a place for me to put new things I needed to add for the week.

Week Two

This week, I didn't want to adventure too different from where I was, but I didn't want to stay the same. So I flopped around the axises.

I forgot Sunday when I was drawing everything, so just pretend it's not squished at the top. I have the times divided into 15 minute increments instead of half hours like last week to solve my scheduling problems. I also added homework, goals and a to-do list to hopefully keep me on track. The color coding from the past week stayed the same to maintain consistency. I have a little bit higher hope for this week, so fingers crossed.

Class Contact Information

Just like last week, I wanted to add one more page aside from just the agenda. Classes started this week so having professors information handy is really important.

I did mix up the colors for two classes, and of course they're 410 and 420... but hopefully that won't cause any confusion for me.

With this I wanted to make sure I had all contact information for the classes: email, phone, office hours and number, class meeting days and times, and literally anything else you can think of. I'm always scrambling between documents trying to find the right email or office hours, so I think this will be very helpful.

Stay tuned for next week and where my bullet adventures take me next!

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

The holiday season is full of stress, debt, and forced conversation. While we rush through the month of December, it's important to take a step back and enjoy the moments before they're gone. Most families love to watch Christmas movies, but these beloved films provide more than entertainment. Here are 10 life lessons that I've learned from the holiday classics we watch every year.

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.

From sea to shining sea, the United States was uniquely positioned for an incredible Aurora Borealis display on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024, going into Friday, Oct. 11.

It was the second time this year after an historic geomagnetic storm in May 2024. Those Northern Lights were visible in Europe and North America, just like this latest rendition.
