Bees are always seduced by sweet honey, and people are also usually beguiled by flashy wealthy. There is a fact that most people in the world love money because they think that money is as a miracle, important, and a powerful factor affecting their lives. Therefore, they can do anything to earn lots of money as much as possible.
They even do not spend more time with their families, friends, or their hobbies. People are blurred by money. Unfortunately they do not know that even though people cannot live without money, it cannot bring true happiness to them. It cannot buy true time, true kindness, and true friends, which makes those people truly happy.
Nobody can deny the power of money because people can buy many necessary things with it such as clothes or food. They will not worry about being homeless or starving. With money, people can have independence and their needs, but is it right that money is everything?
Money can buy a clock, but it cannot buy time of happiness.
Many people usually lose their valuable time because of earning money. When someone is in search of the American Dream, most of their true happiness is stolen. I always remember one of the episodes of the American series named CSI (Crime Scene Investigation) in which a young boy died in New York City without being recognized because he left his family to follow his dream that he wanted to become successful and earn lots of money.
Therefore, it seems like when people follow the call of money, they will have less happy time to enjoy their hobbies, take care of families, or connect with their friends.
Their relationships may be broken, and they can be lonely at the rest of their lives. They lose lots of meaningful time, and the fact that is that money cannot bring their time back. Flower will be withered, and life will be withered.
When they look back, they may regret their previous years even though they become rich. A person who spends much more time with his/her family, friends, or hobbies instead of working all time will be truly happy even though he/she can only live in short time.
On the other hand, a person who spends most of his/her time earning money instead of having fun time with his/her family or hobbies will always feel lonely, stressed and unhappy even though he/she can live for a long time. Overall, money cannot buy people true happiness because of stealing much their meaningful time.
Furthermore, money can make the homeless not hungry, but a hug or a friendly greeting can make them truly happy.
Money is visual, which people cannot buy the invisible kindness of someone. Money can physically buy a heart, but a heart cannot be psychologically bought by money. Showing a little kindness to somebody you just met or helping a stranger who appears needy will make a person feel happy from inside like a warm fire in the winter.
Moreover, people should know that money is a double-edged sword. It can make a person have a better life, and it can also bring artificial happiness to that person. A director of a company can get a help from his employee, but nobody knows that if that employee does that because he wants to have more salary. That director may be happy, but his happiness cannot be true. Therefore, people cannot have true happiness if they depend on money too much because money cannot buy real kindness.
Finally, money cannot truly bring good friends to a person, but money cannot bring a true friend who can make that person truly happy. A true friendship contains honest feelings which do not depend on money. If a person use money to have friends, it seems that he just buys packages which are like deceitful friends. When the pocket of a person is full of money, others are willing to be his friends. They can do anything to make him happy if he wants because of money. These “friends” will behave well with him because he is like an ATM machine.
Then when that person does not have any money, those “friends” will immediately leave, and they can think that they do not know him. I usually text with one Vietnamese friend who is sick. He said when he was sick, people just faded out around him because he did not give them money or offered them any parties anymore.
The definition of money is different for everyone. For someone, they think they may have the whole world if they have lots of money. For others, money is not everything they need. When my mom, my sister, and I lived poorly, we were still happy because at least we had each other. We could see each other whenever we woke up. However, when we had better life with a new house, my sister passed away, and we lost happiness forever.
