Sometimes you just need a pick me up or something relatable.

Feeling a bit under the weather? Stressed? Overworked? Well, here is some motivation to get you through.

1. You know those days where you come home from a long day of work or school?

Giphy

You are usually left to your thoughts. Well, at least I am, in between the laundry list of things to do, and the thoughts of everything and nothing at the same time.

2. Most people tend to put off thinking in the greater aspects of life.

Giphy

If something is bothering them they put it off, stay busy or maybe they even hyper-focus on something else entirely. I feel like I do all of them in the course of an hour and restart it for the next.

3. Life is very difficult.

Giphy

I'd like to say that life isn't that hard, but that's not true and anyone who tells you differently is lying. It is painful, confusing, and unrelenting. There are days where you just want to give up, and then there are days where you are so glad to be alive. Those days seem few and hard to find at times. But everything is difficult, right? It's a process to appreciate things when they're good, right?

4. It's a constant struggle to get through the day.

I am constantly plagued with what to do and how to do things correctly, fairly. Over thinking, over analyzing, caring too much or not enough, worrying over everything.

5. They say everything happens for a reason.

Giphy

Whether they call it fate or destiny, whatever suits your fancy. And you know, a part of me truly believes that. I believe there is a reason that bad things happen to good people, that people come into your life to show you another layer of yourself, and that no matter how bad it gets - it could always be worse.

6. This life is too short and precious to waste it on anything but your happiness.

Giphy

If you are not happy with your life, do anything you possibly can to change it. Whether that be a new career, a new place to live, or surrounding yourself with genuine people.

7. Stop second guessing yourself, stop making excuses.

Giphy

If you see something or someone as difficult, reevaluate their presence in your life to see if it's worth it in the long run. Sometimes, it's your perspective that needs to change and sometimes it's your own fear.

8. Fear has the power to either intimidate or motivate you.

Giphy

It's up to you to choose what is best for you and your conscious. I know myself, I know what I want and what I deserve in this life.

9. Remember, you are what you tell yourself, not what others say you have to be.

Giphy

I am determined, strong-willed, opinionated, fiercely passionate, and I never give up on anything I believe in. Now, this makes a few things difficult - but I still know in my heart that I am being honest to myself and those around me. What about you?

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."
