Mom,
Through the many years, you have shaped me to be the person I have become, and I have become a lot of things. I am now a woman. Thanks to all of your help and guidance throughout my adolescent years, and even now. I owe my world to you and can never repay all you have done for me.
Growing up, it was always just us. You and I became a power duo. We started an unbreakable bond that will continue to grow for life. Though we may not have always gotten along, talking about that time I wanted to stretch curfew, at the end of the day, we knew our relationship and friendship was always stronger than the silly fight we had.
Many times we fought and cried over our fights, and many times we shared laughter and hugs, and those days will continue on. We will argue in the future, and we will share much laughter in the future. All in all, we will never have a broken bond.
Mom, you are my definition of a role model. Growing up, you worked your butt off to make me happy and buy me all the toys a 6-year-old girl could ask for. If I wanted a Polly Pocket, you would make sure to put me first and get me that Polly Pocket. You had me at such a young age, which put you behind for starting a career, and you still made something amazing out of yourself. You never relied on anyone to take care of us. All the independence you have shown me is another great reason why you represent everything I want to be in life.
We were never the richest when I was little, but that did not stop you from making me feel like a princess growing up. You nurtured me from day one. I remember the nights you would read to me before bed or try to play Barbie’s with me. You are my best friend.
From all the vacations we took each summer and random road trips on the weekends, growing up never seemed dull with you. Our adventures always seemed to end in a way with us getting lost. While you may have been flabbergasted on the inside, you showed relaxation on the outside. We always ended up laughing it off in the end, and somehow we always made it there, even in one piece.
As I got older, you sat on the sidelines to watch me cheer and swim, no matter how humid the swim meets ended up being. You came to my choir concerts and award banquets. You were there for it all.
There is no amount of words I could say or even attempt to say to explain my thankfulness for you. Through my bests and worsts, you have never left my side.
You are my mom, and the only one I could ever ask for. So for that, thank you for everything mom.
I love you.
