Dear Mom,
I miss you! Did I tell you last night I made that garlic chicken & pasta dish you make at home? Not going to lie it was good, but not nearly as good as yours. I made it because I miss you. Smelling the garlic simmer in the pan brought me back home in our kitchen that you designed yourself. The kitchen we bake cookies in, the kitchen we share a glass of wine in, the kitchen we (try) to eat healthy in.
I miss you! Did I tell you I went shopping the other day? Downtown with some girls from school. Not going to lie it was fun, but not near as much fun as when I go with you. I love how you and I just get each other. If something looks bad...we'll tell each other. I tell you like it is, a quality I definitely got from you! I love how we both get annoyed when a store is 100 degrees and then the next one is -45 degrees. I love how we both complain about how we look fat in absolutely everything we try on, so just decide to go home. (and then bake cookies)
I miss you! Did I tell you I went for a drive the other day? To the store with my roommates. Not going to lie it was entertaining, but not near as entertaining as going for a drive you. For some reason, every time you and I go for a drive that lasts longer than 15 minutes, we end up in some sort of ridiculous conversation about boys or movies or school. It usually ends with both of us laughing so hard we cry. Don't let me leave out what happens when we have the radio on...I swear you have rewritten every single song on the radio in your own words! We'll both be singing along to some country song and you'll sing your own version of the words which of course leads back to the laughing tears again.
I miss you! Did I tell you I went to the movies the other night? To see Suicide Squad with some friends. Not going to lie it was cool, but not as cool as when we go together. I love how we always pick one of two movie categories to see together. 1. An incredibly sappy and cheesy love story, or 2. A movie that neither of us knew was going to be inappropriate but ended up being half cuss words half nudity. I love how when you go to buy tickets you tell the cashier we want one senior citizen ticket and one child ticket like they'll ever believe you and I are anything other than college aged sisters!! Whatever we go see I know I can count on us smuggling Ol' Sole' Mio's or CaboFresh into the theatre for dinner, and some M&Ms and a thermos of tea for dessert!
I miss you Mom! This letter doesn't even come close to talking about all the stuff I miss! Going into the city to see a show, making cookies, doing back scratches, getting all dressed up for dinner, and so much more. Don't worry college is great and I'm having a blast! But when I get home I hope you're ready to tackle a laundry list of things that just aren't the same without you.
I love you Mom!
