To Mom And To Dad, On The Day That I Graduate

Dear Mom and Dad,

The day has arrived: graduation!

It feels like yesterday that I just graduated from high school and here I am (granted, I am graduating a year early, but still).

The feelings are bittersweet.

Since I will still be here for another year to earn my MBA, it does not seem totally real yet.

But, on the other hand, I am afraid to see another milestone pass me by.

I still have a few years of schooling left between grad school and veterinary school, but it still seems like it is all coming just way too quickly.

Mom and Dad,

I will always be your little girl. Maybe I am not the same size that I was when you pushed me on my bicycle or when we went to Disney World and got signatures from every single character (multiple times). However, that does not mean that I am not that little girl at heart.

Mom and Dad,

I will always need you. Maybe I do not need you to tie my shoes or to braid my hair before school, but there will never be a time when I do not need you. Whether it is just a hug or a phone call, or it is assistance with proofreading an essay, I know you will always be there for me and please know that I will always be here for you.

Mom and Dad,

our memories are just beginning. We have made so many wonderful memories from family vacations to movie nights in the living room. But, just because I am older, that does not mean the memories are over, quite the opposite, in fact. We have so much time to make so many more beautiful memories.

Mom and Dad,

thank you for not giving me all of the answers. Yes, you guided me to make the right decision plenty of times. But if you did not give me the freedom to choose where I went to school or if you forced me to break-up with that not-so-great boyfriend instead of me figuring it out for myself, I would have been a totally different person.

Mom and Dad,

I am so thankful for you. You have been there for me through it all. Whenever I needed a shoulder to cry on and a giant bear hug, you were exactly what I needed. Whenever I needed someone to slap some sense into me, you were perfect at that, too.

Mom and Dad,

I love you. I love you more than words can ever express and I will love you more and more with every passing day that is spent together.

Today, on graduation day, please remember that this is not the end, but rather, it is the beginning. I would not have made it here without your love, your care, your support.

I love you, Mom and Dad.

Always and Forever to Infinity and Beyond,

Amanda Panda.

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
