Get Ready To Feel the Aster

Ten things I want to see in Young Justice season 3.

For those of you that read my recent article on the show Young Justice, you'll recall that I mentioned that there was a possibility of it being renewed. Well, that possibility has become a reality: the prayers and pleadings of fans have fallen on merciful ears, and Young Justice is getting a third season.

It's unclear when that will be released, and whether it'll go through Cartoon Network or Netflix, but right now, I'm just happy to now that my favorite heroes are coming back. And, in honor of this monumental occasion, I've devised a list of things that I'd like to see in season 3. It's not a list of demands or must-haves (honestly, I'm just relieved to get another season), but just some things I'd be interested to see included.

1. Where's Wally?

Listen, I get that people die, and all, but do you seriously expect me to believe that Wally West is dead? There's no way, okay? We all know he's just trapped in the speed force, trying to get out. Having a scene where Barry or Bart finds him and rescues him would be not only heartwarming, but extremely satisfying for anyone who's been reading the DC Rebirth reboot (in which it turns out Wally West was trapped in the speed force and forgotten by all, until Barry found him). In this case, of course, everyone on the team still remembers Wally. I'd like to see a slow build-up of them grieving and trying to way to change his death, only for them to realize he's still alive.

2. The (Re)Birth of Red Hood

The show confirmed that during the time skip, there was another Robin who died, presumably Jason Todd. In comic books, he was killed by the Joker, only to be resurrected via the Lazarus Pit. He then turned into a violent anti-hero known as the Red Hood, who sought to be the antithesis of Batman, using guns and murder to rid Gotham of criminals.

3. Black Canary as the head of the Justice League

At the end of season 2, Captain Atom passed his chairmanship over to Black Canary. I'd like to see how she uses that power, and what kind of leader she is on that scale. I have no doubt that she's going to be a kickass commander.

4. More insane villains

While I'm totally loving the villains already featured inYoung Justice, I'd love to see more. One of the show's best features is that there are basically no limits on which characters it can use, since it's a cartoon and completely free of the restraints that bind the live-action DC TV shows.

I'm particularly hoping to see more of the Flash Rogues, especially since they're a traditionally unique villain team, which is typically only interested in petty theft, and even teams up with the Flash sometimes. I'd love to see a full-blown Rogues line-up on Young Justice, because while I love the versions of Captain Cold and Heatwave (portrayed by Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell, respectively) seen on the CW's Arrowverse, most of the Rogues are a lot wackier and outlandish than that medium allows for. But when you're using animation, the sky's the limit with the effects you can create.

5. Titans

Am I over the cancellation of the original Teen Titans? No, no I am not. But as it doesn't look like that's coming back any time soon, in cartoon or live action, I'd settle for more Teen Titans characters showing up in Young Justice. Right now, we're only missing Cyborg, Starfire, and Raven. I'm really hoping the latter shows up eventually, since her story arc (revolving around her demonic father and the prophesy that states she'll destroy the world) has always fascinated me, and would make for a great plotline.

6. Lex Luthor as a member of the UN

One of the unsung virtues of Young Justice is that it managed to create an intelligent and charming version of Lex Luthor, who was affective, but not over the top. At the end of season 2, he masterminded a plan to save the planet from the Reach's plans for destruction, not only saving the world, but also increasing his public image enough that someone suggested he fill an available position on the UN. Knowing Luthor's cunning, he's probably all-too willing to take that opportunity, and I'd love to see what he does with it.

7. More of the Bat-Family

I'll be honest. I don't just want Jason Todd. I want Stephanie Brown, Damian Wayne, Cassandra and Katie Kane, Duke Thomas, the whole shebang (I'll settle for no Terry McGinnis, though). I want to see them become a bigger family, and I want to see more of their interactions with each other, especially since Nightwing is bound to be grieving over the apparent death of his best friend, Wally.

8. John Constantine

Sometimes, I look at shows, and think: You know what this needs? A Cockney-accented, chain-smoking con man and magician! In all honestly, though, I don't see how adding Constantine would be a bad idea (hey, he made the flashbacks in Arrow season 4 tolerable, if only for one episode). Anything mystical and occult is his specialty, so it'd be cool to see Zatanna come to him asking for help releasing her father from Dr. Fate. Or, if Raven appears, it'd be cool to see him function as an authority on her lineage.

9. More Time Travel

Since we've got Bart Allen, who else is waiting around to travel back in time? Eobard Thawne? Inertia? Booster Gold? (On second thought, skip that last one). Since time travel exists in this universe, there's no telling what could happen next. I'd love to see the team, all grown-up, encounter younger versions of themselves and struggle not to tell them about the timeline. Or, better yet, I'd love to see someone try to change the timeline (yes, I know what happens in Flashpoint. What can I say? I'm a glutton for bad consequences).

10. DARKSEID!

Look: Vandal Savage and the Light have been working with Darkseid the entire time. You really expect me to forget about that little bombshell? I mean, hello people: he rules the planet of APOKOLIPS! He wants to conquer the universe! HE'S BASICALLY AN IMMORTAL ALIEN GOD! So, yeah, I want to see more of him. So sue me.

That's about it. Feel free to comment your own suggestions and takes on what you'd like to see in season 3. Until then, stay whelmed, and keep checking the news for info about when new episodes will come out.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

eye roll

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"

While this question trend can get annoying, there are a couple of pros to having RBF.

Yify

Another day, another Elle Woods comment. Can’t us blondes get through the day without someone harping at us over the typical stereotypes about who we are? I never understood why a person was judged based upon the hair color they were born with, or the hair color they choose to have (unless you dye your hair blue like Kylie Jenner, I’m still trying to understand why that’s a trend). Nevertheless, as it should be assumed, not everyone is the same. Not all blondes like bright colors and Lilly Pulitzer, and not all blondes claim to identify with Marilyn Monroe. I think the best suggestion to give to people before they make such radical claims is to stop judging a book by its cover. Or in this case, stop judging a blonde by her hair color.
