With Thanksgiving right around the corner, it's time to project thanks for those things that we are thankful for. It's also the time of year to gather with friends and loved ones.

Here are 12 Thanksgiving shenanigans told through the cast of "Modern Family."

When you're waiting for dinner to be served but need a quick snack

Waiting for the Thanksgiving meal to be done is the longest waiting game ever. I'm sure we all can relate to snacking on all the goodies while we wait for Turkey to be served.

That feeling when your favorite cousin shows up

Everyone has that one cousin or family member that they're super close too. Every time you two see each other, the party starts and it makes the holidays even more special.

When you finally get to eat

You ate all the snacks and hear the words "Dinner's ready." It's the best thing you'll hear all day.

That one cousin who sings all the show-tunes during the Broadway performances on the Macy's Parade

The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is a staple for most families on Thanksgiving. For all of us theatre lovers, it's the day where we get to see all of our Broadway favorites belt their faces off and give us the performances of their lives.

Of course, there's always that one cousin who sings all the words to every Broadway song.

When your Aunt who can't cook said she made the macaroni and cheese

There's always that one family member who loves to help everyone during the holidays, but they know their cooking is so bad the dog won't eat it.

When someone brings up politics

Let's face it, in today's political climate, politics are bound to come up as a topic of discussion this holiday season. Ignore it and abort mission!

When someone asks if you're still single

The age old question, that every family member asks during the holidays. Why yes Aunt Sara, I am still very single and I'm doing just fine.

When you're finally grown enough to sit at the adult table

Growing up everyone usually sits at the kid's table, but once you become of age you get to sit at the adult table and hear all the secrets and gossip. You find out that all the secret and gossip is about adult issues and how much being an adult sucks. I'll drink to that.

When your baby cousin shows you the baby shark video for the 1000th time

No one wants to watch Baby Shark anymore. It's not going to happen!

When your Aunt tells you about her new "man"

If you can't find any information about your new potential man, give us his name and about five minutes and we'll have all the information you need.

When someone asks how college is going

Let's not talk about it.

When it's time for the Family Photo

We all get annoyed when it comes time for the family photo because we're bloated from all the food and we're tired. At the end of the day, we do it because it makes Grandma happy and it's always nice to look back on these photos and memories.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
