How Disney's new princess is the best

For those who are not aware, Disney has released yet another princess movie. This new princess, well, daughter of a chef joins the line up as number 14. With long, curly black hair, brown eyes, and a spirited personality, Moana stands out from past princesses.

I have always been a big fan of Disney, especially their princesses. I am a girl after all. So, when the news came out that a new one was coming out, I couldn't wait. I saw the first trailer when I went to see "Finding Dory." I also kind of screamed when I found out the one and only Lin-Manuel Miranda would be writing the music. (He wrote and starred in the Broadway hit, "Hamilton.") After that, I watched every trailer that was released. The amount of excitement I was feeling was pretty much equivalent to that of a five-year-old.

I had my chance to watch this wonderful piece of animation the week after Thanksgiving Break. With popcorn in one hand and my drink in the other, I sat in the theater that contained mostly small children and their parents. My friends and I had to be the oldest there. But I did not care. When the opening score started, I nestled down in my seat. I was ready to be wowed by another Disney movie.

I'm not going to share any spoilers. But, sorry "Pocahontas," you've been knocked down a notch. The character of Moana exceeded my expectations. Everything about her. The thing that wowed me the most was how normal she looked, and I am so happy with that. I remember wishing I looked like the past princesses, skinny and tall. But Moana is a little curvy and on the shorter side. Her sassy attitude was a bonus. This is such a good change on Disney's part. Moana is going to be a great princess for little girls to look up to. She is by far my favorite Disney princess now, and I can't overlook baby Moana. I think my heart melted a little when she toddled onto the screen, those big brown eyes, curly hair, and chubby little thighs made my heart happy.

In addition, she's the princess we need right now. She is so full of dreams and passion. I think America's forgotten how to feel that way. Moana is also very positive, even when the odds seemed against her. The people of America seem to focus on the negative in everything. It's hard to see a smile on anyone's face when they walk down the sidewalk. Hopefully, people will go and see Moana and get a little positivity in their life. This movie is a little ray of sunshine that our country needs right now.

All in all, I was blown away by the movie. I want to go see it again and again. No guarantees that I won't buy it when it is released on iTunes.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
