Moana is a Must See
Walt Disney Movies

Holy Crap.

I'm a critic by nature, trying to find flaws in everything I watch not out of spite but out of love. I can almost always simultaneously enjoy a movie and pick it apart. I do it with my favorite movies constantly, finding new things to poke fun at every time I watch them.

I couldn't do this with Moana.

Amazing is the only word that comes to my mind when I try to describe the movie. The story is amazing, the atmosphere is amazing, the voice cast is amazing, the soundtrack and visuals are.....I'd say amazing but they're something above that that I can't quite grasp. It almost seems like the Polynesian Gods have divinely intervened to give us a perfectly told representation of their history. Seriously, Moana is THAT good.

The music is a great blend of modern music and Hawaiin culture, mixing the two together seamlessly. This is hugely in part to Lin-Manuel Miranda, known for hit Broadway sensation Hamilton, who has an amazing ability to somehow make old musical styles seem fresh and old traditions seem entertaining. He was able to help make songs that are simultaneously ancient and radio ready. The Moana Soundtrack is not going to be out of my head for weeks, if at all. IT'S JUST THAT GOOD!

Normally I'd go on longer in a review or an article than this but I just can't this time. I don't want to spoil anything about the movie for those who are going to see it. This is one of those films that is also an experience instead of just a great watch. If your experience is anything like mine, you will be filled with emotion from the moment the Disney logo starts, replacing their usual "When You Wish Upon A Star" with an amazing tribal chant that immediately gets your blood pumping.

All I can really say about Moana is that you have to see it. You owe it to yourself to experience what I experienced. This is EASILY a 10/10 and one of the best movies that Disney has ever made.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
