The MLB trade deadline is now over and the run to October begins. Teams have improved with some trades made and other teams are starting to focus on the next season. Her are my top 10 MLB power rankings.
10. Boston Red Sox
The Red Sox have recently been sliding down the standings. With a bad couple of loses the Red Sox find themselves on the edge of the second wild card spot. The pitching lately has been better but the offense recently has struggled.
9. Detroit Tigers
The Tigers find themselves in a race for the AL Wildcard. The Tigers have been on fire lately with great offense and good pitching. Miguel Cabrera and Victor Martinez have carried the way for Detroit.
8. Baltimore Orioles
Baltimore is leading the AL east right now. The pitching for the Orioles has been struggling lately but with the offense they have it offset.
7. LA Dodgers
The Dodgers made a big trade at the MLB trade deadline. They added pitcher Rich Hill and Josh Reddick and this helps them big time with the needs they needed. Kershaw is out still and the Dodgers needed pitching help and Hill can fill that role.
6. Toronto Blue Jays
The Blue Jays have made a comeback and find themselves right back in the race. They had a difficult start to the year and now they are one of the hottest teams in baseball.
5. Texas Rangers
The Rangers are in first place in the AL West. The Rangers also made trades at the deadline. They added Johnathan Lucroy and Carlos Beltran to their lineup. The Rangers made themselves even better.
4. San Francisco Giants
The Giants have recently ben playing well. At the start of the second half of the season the Giants went of a losing streak that ended up letting Dodgers right back in the playoff picture. San Francisco can compete with the Cubs in the playoffs but the pitching needs to be spot on if so.
3. Cleveland Indians
The Indians made a trade at the deadline to get Andrew Miller from the Yankees. This makes their bullpen one of the best and come October can shut down an opposing lineup. Miller is a shutdown pitcher in the ninth and can make the difference come the end of the year.
2. Washington Nationals
The Nationals have had a great season so far. Both the pitching and offense had been great and they look like there going to run away with the NL East.
1. Chicago Cubs
The team of destiny, the Chicago Cubs have made people believe they can win it all. Adding Aroldis Chapman sold me on who was the No. 1 team in the power rankings.
