A dog forced into a uncomfortable stunt

Mistreatment In A Dog's Purpose

A dog has always been called a man’s best friend. Although recently a video has surfaced that not everybody believes that. Someone on the set of the new movie, A Dog’s Purpose, leaked a video on how they treated one of the dogs.

In the video the crew is forcing an obviously scared German Shepard in to very fast moving water. In the video a man can be heard saying that it will be fine since the water is warm. The man also claims that the dog wants to go in the water. However, the dog can be seen trying to walk away from the crew member trying to put him in the water. When the back paw of the dog touches the water, he panics and pushes himself up and away from the edge. Once in the water near the end of the pool the dog goes under.

The video has already caused outrage among the public. Pet owners have been retweeting and sharing the video to spread awareness. The premier of the movie has been canceled, the wide release is still scheduled to be aired. The man behind the camera encourages them to just throw the dog into the water otherwise he will not calm down. The author tried to defend the movie by saying the only problem was that they changed the position of where the stunt was done.

Personally, I now refuse to go see the movie. The treatment of this dog means that more than likely they did not treat the other dogs with respect either. I don’t know why the owner of the dog allowed filming to continue once the they saw how scared the dog was. But after the video I encourage people not to give their money to this film.

I'll never forget the day that someone told me these words: "Madison, I think you're a good friend to everyone but yourself." I stood there completely in awe of that statement.
