Mistakes. The majority of humanity would consider mistakes to be a negative thing in life. Mistakes are actions that should be regretted, right? Wrong! We all make mistakes, whether it is major or minor, its human nature to make mistakes.

Did you know life's greatest lessons are mistakes that we have made? Without mistakes, we can't learn and we can't grow to be better. Mistakes teach you a lot about yourself and a lot about others. Think about the last time you made a mistake. Did you beat yourself up about it? If the answer is yes, how did that make you feel? I'm almost certain you did not feel any better.

You see, there will be many things that we have done, which will be considered as mistakes. I think we should use these mistakes, and turn them into positive learning experiences. Reflect on what you have done, and then simply let it go. When we create mistakes, they are supposed to be learning experiences for us. Something that we look back upon and ask ourselves "what could I have done differently?" and then simply let it go and move forward. That's all we need to do. We shouldn't have to live with our mistakes each day of our lives. The past is in the past. Your only focus should be the present moment. If we don't focus on the present moment, we miss out on the value of life. We miss out on the precious moments of our lives because our mind is constantly focusing on the past. Everything was written for us, and in our paths of life we will make many mistakes and that is OK.

Mistakes are lessons that will be the guideline for becoming the person you wish to become. The woman that I am today is because of all the mistakes that I have made. I am quite certain there will be many more mistakes as well, and that's perfectly acceptable to me. I love to look back and reflect on life and say to myself "wow, you have come a long way". I believe that is something everyone should say to himself or herself, as a reminder of how strong they are, because of the best lessons their mistakes have taught them.

You are only given one life to live. There are 86,390 seconds in a day. Utilize each of those seconds to become the best you possible. Don't let any of those seconds be wasted on negative thinking. Don't waste it on beating yourself about past mistakes. The people that truly care for you, won't be bothered with your mistakes. In fact, they will probably try to uplift you. Those that will judge you, they need to look at themselves in the mirror for they will see a human that has created mistakes, like any other human on this Earth.

The next time you make a mistake, breathe deeply, reflect and simply let go.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
