Summer Bucketlist for Missouri

Missouri doesn't have to sound like Misery.

Summer is now in full-swing and you are bored as hell because you are from Missouri. You scroll through Instagram only to realize how lame your life is compared to those spending their long, sunny days at beaches in Alabama, visiting their cousins in California, or studying away in Spain. Well, my fellow Missourians, it is time to kick that attitude to the curb. You are from the smack dab middle of 'Merica and ain't nobody gonna take away your freedom or your fun.

Visit the Arch

Where my St. Louis people at?! Well, if they're not walking the beautiful streets of this city, they're probably discussing what suburb they're from over some tasty St. Louis Bread Co. Also, you can ride to the top! This, my friend, is a road trip waiting to happen.

Eat some cheese at Osceola Cheese.

Do you like Cheese? Do you like free samples of cheese? Do you like an odd number of clean restrooms? Do you like an overabundance of parking? My friend, this is the place for you. From goat cheese to taco cheese, they have it all.

Fantastic Caverns

Did you know that Fantastic Caverns is the only cave in North America that you can get a ride-through tour? Located in Springfield, Missouri you are guaranteed to have your breath taken away by the stalactites and the sink holes that have formed in the caves.

National World War One Memorial & Museum- Downtown Kansas City

"In honor of those who served in the world war in defense of liberty and our country."

Overlooking, the gorgeous Kansas City, the National World War One memorial is something everyone should stop and pay their respects to. There is also a museum built underneath the monument where you can visit to further your knowledge about the war and the who sacrificed so much for our freedom.

Royals Vs. Cardinals

Talk about eye candy! Catch a game at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas city, and snap a picture with Slugger. If you're in St. Louis, stop by Busch Stadium and enjoy the view. I won't lie, I am a KC girl at heart but give yourself a pat on the back, STL.

Have a float at Fitz's.

Need I say more?....didn't think so.

Stay a night in the Historical Elms Hotel.

I bet you are already packing your bags. This hotel offers a historical vibe, with spa and pool access. Located in Excelsior Springs, Missouri you will find many things to do such as shop at local boutiques, have exquisite cheesecake at Ventana Gourmet Grill, and enjoy the historical Elms hotel. Did you know Harry S. Truman our 33rd president was staying here when he was announced as America's next president? nbd though.

Cathedral Basilica - St. Louis

The Catholics strike again with their beautiful churches. Need a quick fix to see something with a European feel, but you can't actually go to Europe? Go here instead, confess a little, you will not regret it.

The Butterfly Palace & Rainforest Adventure

Take a trip to Branson and take a tour of the Butterfly Palace. Walking through you will see thousands of exotic and brilliantly colored butterflies, maybe you will get lucky and get the chance to release your own.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
