Mississippi State Is The Best– Sorry To The Rest

Here is why MSU is the best football team in the SEC.

I'll start by saying that there is only one real school in the state of Mississippi, don't guess or speculate because there is absolutely no questioning that statement. Mississippi State University is arguably one of the best schools in the SEC, definitely the best college in Mississippi, I mean since we are being honest here, each day we thank our lucky stars that we aren't TSUN (real Bulldogs understand.) This article is not meant to compliment, or make any other school feel better about themselves, so the only school name that will be stated is, the only one that matters. I'm sorry Rebels, but not today! As we gear up to get back out in those stands after a long anticipated season of some good ol' football, there are a few things that much be understood. Mississippi State University has the best football family, fans, players, and environment that college football has to offer!

Here's why:

1. The junction is the best place to be outside of the stadium.

Out on that large patch of green grass, connections are made, friendships are made, and bonds become stronger. Because of the junction, fans become family! I've met so many people on the junction that I still consider my friends today, all because we had the love of a few colors in common: maroon and white.

2. We are DAWGS!

Nobody else can sing "Who let the Dogs out" to the ring of some very familiar bells!

3. Our fight song.

We unofficially, yet extremely officially get to sing those words "GTHOM" when we accompany our band to the tune of our fight song.

4. Best fans.

One thing I have gathered over the years as a Mississippi State Student is that no matter what happens after the fourth quarter, the fans never change. We cheer for the boys before the game, we cheer for them afterward, we cheer when they win, and we cheer when they lose.

5. MORE COWBELL!

Come on, if your not a Mississippi State student you kind of wish that you could ring the coolest "noise maker" in the SEC! Some people call it obnoxious, but we call it music. So if you can't handle the noise, then just stay off the field!

*So if you're not a Mississippi State University student or fan, just know that when you step into the gates of Davis Wade Stadium in Starkville, Mississippi, on any given Saturday, be ready for three things, a sea of maroon and white, a vicious dog attack, and MORE COWBELL!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
