Poetry On Odyssey: Missing Home

I love this family because it's real.

They're the outliers I chose for my picked home.

Through all the sadness, they were there to feel.

Without this family, I aimlessly roam.


I love this trek of life because it's fun.

Especially with the friends I hold as mine.

As their warm smiles heat the blazing sun,

I know this journey was the perfect line.


I love the life I share because he's true.

The life I live is based on God's creations.

The gorgeous morning won't belong to rue

Because he never goes on long vacations.


The people that surround me are the reasons,

I want to savor all of God's seasons.

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here. Around the town, there are some just some landmarks and places that only the people of Hauppauge will ever understand the importance or even the annoyance of.
