You'll hear people say to you all the time that you're going to miss high school. That these are the best days of your life and to not take them for granted. For high school athletes this is so very true. Out of my high school career, the best and some worst days of my life were because of the blood, sweat and tears I put into my high school sports. Even after over two years of being out of high school, I still miss the rush of it.

1. Being in such good shape.

I remember being so healthy and being able to eat whatever I wanted and still looking good.

2. The weird rituals and traditions.

Because laying your legs on the wall and listening to remixes of El Chapo is going to make you win.

3. Wearing your jersey to school on game day.

Having your favorite number and last name on your back is a feeling of pride and there is nothing like it.

4. Seeing your family in the stands.

Rain or shine, they were there cheering you on the entire time. Maybe even smack talking the rivals parents if they're really rad.

5. Playing your rivals.

Because nothing feels better than knowing it is going to be a tough game. Except winning against them of course.

6. The blinding lights.

Being under the blinding lights was exhilarating and although they blinded you on multiple occasions, it was worth it.

7. The smell of a freshly painted field.

The look and smell of this stuff was like a drug for me. Just wish I didn't fall and stain my home jersey with the yellow paint.

8. Being a part of something larger than yourself.

We were a team, win or lose, we had each others backs and would always be there to defend and protect.

9. Your coach.

They drove you to not only insanity but to your limit. When you didn't believe in yourself, he/she did with no doubt in their minds. Coaches, you are the real MVP and thank you for all that you do.

10. The bus rides.

On the way there everyone was so pumped. Yelling about everything that they could think of and getting us ready to fight. On the way home we would all try to stay up but we all knew we were going to pass out as soon as we could. And the pictures were priceless.

11. Missing class.

Class > games. Always.

12. Winning.

Each scar is a story and a memory of your time as a high school athlete.

I wouldn't trade my atheletic high school years for anything. The bruises, blood, scrapes, money and time caused by sports was all worth it. Being a apart of something that was so life changing was definitely worth the loses and pain we all went through.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
