When college students go home for the summer, the things we miss most typically include our friends and having things to do at any time. But, let's face it, every college campus has things that we can use a break from and definitely won't miss. Here is my list for The Ohio State University.
1. Construction on High Street
Let's not forget the destruction of Mirror Lake, too. It seems as if construction never ends.
2. Tapingo
When arriving on campus, Tapingo seemed like the greatest invention ever. Well, that was until you arrived to pick up your order only to find that it had not even been started yet.
3. Walking across campus in the rain or snow
Having such a big campus can be a blessing and a curse.
Big campus = always meeting new people and finding new places to explore.
4. Crowded CABS buses on those rainy/snowy days
Of course, nobody ever utilizes campus buses until it rains or snows. Have fun getting a seat or even just the space to stand. *Cue fake cough*
5. Exams (and studying in general)
Motivation declines as fall/spring break concludes.
6. Chemistry department
Welcome to Gen Chem, your nightmare that lasts all semester! Good luck... you'll need it.
7. Shower shoes
Because who doesn't love showering in flip-flops? Oh, don't forget the cold water and crappy water pressure!
8. No A/C in the old dorms
I definitely won't miss not having air conditioning. I also won't miss my leaky ceiling (it's sad when the ceiling is crying along with you).
9. Parking
I love that I can actually park without fighting for a spot or worrying about being ticketed or towed.
10. Fire alarms
No more walking down three flights of stairs at 2 a.m. because someone used the "popcorn" button on their microwave.
11. Tom W. Davis Clock Tower
One word, tOSU: ridiculous. As if the university didn't have better options to spend $1.4 million dollars on... oh yeah, like dorms that leak/flood and don't have A/C!
While there are some things about tOSU that I hate and won't miss over summer, there's no campus I'd rather return to in the fall. O-H-I-O!
