Why Miranda Sings Is My Role Model

YouTubers can be role models too!

For those of you reading this article, you either know who Miranda Sings is or you are interested in getting to know who she is. Either way, go check out her YouTube channel and get to know who she is! I promise you will not be disappointed. However, be prepared to laugh or want to cut off your ears. Miranda Sings has some bad qualities, but rather than dwell on those qualities, I have decided to focus on two big reasons why she is an inspiration and role model to me: she doesn’t give up on her dreams and she doesn’t care what people think of her. No matter what situation she is in, she is always herself and full of ambition. If by the end of this article you aren’t completely enthralled with Miranda Sings, then you are a ‘hater and need to back off!’ I’m kidding, enjoy!

YouTube sensation, Miranda Sings is by far not the greatest singer. In fact, she is probably the worst singer I have ever heard, other than myself. She is constantly off-beat, messes up words, and does this weird thing with her mouth where she draws out various notes in a song. Click the link for reference. However, I still love her. Miranda Sings has garnered a lot of hate for her obvious lack of talent, but she perseveres on. Time after time she produces video after video, in the hopes of spreading her many talents. Whether it’s to show off her sad magic tricks, her “amazing” makeup tips, or her peculiar vocals, she never stops making videos for her fans, even when her haters tell her that she has no talent and should stop singing. Miranda simply brushes them aside, tells them to ‘back off,' and continues to do what she loves. Her goal was to become famous and with a lot of ambition she has succeeded. Currently, her channel has over 500 videos, 7+ million subscribers, and almost a million views on all of her videos. If that’s not following and succeeding in your dreams, then I don’t know that is. This may be very cliché, but it is always important to keep pursuing your dreams, even if you think they will not come true. Following your ambitions is a process that takes time, so keep working towards them. Go be like Miranda and never give up!

Miranda Sings is crazy, ignorant, selfish, and even rude, but she has a lot of self-love for herself. Haters constantly hate on her for her lack of talent and the way she dresses, but that only makes her love herself even more. Miranda’s favorite thing to wear is a bright red lipstick that ends up more around her mouth and in her teeth than actually on her lips. To complete this look she likes to wear a button down shirt with red sweatpants hiked up to her stomach. She looks absolutely ridiculous, but she knows how to own the look. In her eyes, she is ‘bootiful’ and a ‘queen.’ Her dancing is a whole other issue; she can’t dance. Miranda’s form of dancing is awkwardly moving your arms, legs, and shoulders around. You feel embarrassed just watching her. Please click the link to understand! The thing is she genuinely thinks she is a good dancer, so she always has so much energy and confidence in one performance. I don’t know if it’s her odd, confident facial expressions or if it is the way she follows through with her dance steps, but I find myself cheering for her. It takes courage and a lot of not caring to do what she does, so I can only applaud her. In a world where there is so much hate and criticism, it’s important to always love yourself. I hope some of you that are struggling with this can learn and be inspired by Miranda Sings like I was.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.
