If you're not familiar with minimalism, it simply means living with less. It seems a little crazy in a world where Amazon can drop whatever random object you need at your front door in 24 hours to suddenly want to have less material possessions. Those who've made a few changes though can't deny the freedom that comes with having less. Here are a few reasons why minimalism might be the right thing for you.

1. You'll reduce your stress.

Even for those of us that aren't neat freaks, clutter can become a huge stressor when it builds up. When you throw out all those recipes ripped from magazines that have never been used and stop yourself from buying another spiralizer, you can make your home a decluttered space where relaxing is a real possibility.

2. The environment will thank you.

We've all made ridiculous purchases on a whim only to have an unused trendy letter board wind up in the trash months later. Buying less means wasting less and making your footprint that much smaller. Whether its less new clothes, gadgets or fewer random purchases from Amazon, the little change makes a big difference.

3. Traveling can become a reality.

The less you have, the easier it is to pick up and go anywhere you want. It'll make packing easier when you're not trying to save room for all the pointless souvenirs you just have to bring back and the expenses will seem a little less overwhelming. Having fewer things means not being the guy on the plane trying to stuff a giant bag that should have been checked into the overhead bin.

4. You can say goodbye to hoarding.

Get rid of all those old "sentimental" ticket stubs you've saved and books you swore you would read. Donate the clothes in the back of your closet, the ones you never really liked anyway, and ditch the pile of cheap face masks you kept in an attempt at self-care. Decluttering will be the best decision you've ever made.

5. Money will be well spent.

Reminding yourself that a head massager isn't exactly a necessity and that you'll never actually those heated slippers makes budgeting a whole lot simpler. Without the expense of pointless gadgets and clothing, a lot of money is left to spend on concerts or whatever other experience you so desire. Simply going out on Saturdays with friends won't seem like some big expense you need to save for all week long.

Though you may not be ready to take the plunge and lead a full-on minimalist lifestyle, it's easy to start small. Tossing something you no longer need every month and making one less purchase a week can be enough to help save money and stress.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
