My brother has been serving in the United States Army for two years now. As a military sibling, there are certain things you just know to be true. Here are nine things only military siblings know to be true.
1. Your sibling is a hero, no matter what branch or rank.
2. You understand military jargon after just a few days with your sibling home on leave.
3. Planning a family vacation is impossible because of last minute leave approval.
4. You never really know what your sibling is doing, and you see the frustration in your parents because of that.
5. You have a "Proud *insert branch here* Sister/Brother" bumper sticker on your car.
6. You get way too involved with politics because, let's face it, the president is in charge of your sibling's fate.
7. You go crazy on patriotic holidays with the military pride apparel.
8. You are well aware of the fact that there isn't much you can do to compare to the sacrifice your sibling has made.
9. You are proud to be the sibling of a member of the United States military. Oorah. 'Murica.
