Does The Military Diet Work?

Can you really lose ten pounds in three days?

Does The Military Diet Work?

There has been a big craze with the Military Three Day Diet. I looked everywhere to get some reviews about this diet and see if it really works. Well, I barely found any results, so I decided to give it a try and see how it went.

The Military Diet is a strict diet that you follow for three days. I heard that you can lose up ten pounds in three days, so, it was time for me to find out.

For breakfast, I drank a cup of black coffee and ate half of a grapefruit and a slice of whole wheat toast. The grapefruit was so sour! I realized that if you cut it in half and scoped out the pink membrane, it was not as sour. So, my advice is: do not eat the grapefruit as if it was an orange.

The hardest part about this diet is that there is no snacking allowed. So yes, it feels as if you are starving yourself. Keeping busy is a must, like walking instead of driving and taking the stairs instead of the elevator. Another thing, I had to gulp down water to suppress the hunger. The sugar-free flavor packets were a major help to make me feel full until lunch.

For lunch, I had to eat a half can of tuna and one slice of whole wheat toast. I also had to drink another cup of black coffee. The light roast coffee tasted the best without any sugar or cream. Light roast does not taste as burnt and also has more caffeine! Another thing: tuna smells horrible, so do not eat it in class!

For dinner, I had to eat white meat, green beans, and an apple. I decided on chicken, but turkey would also work great. I used canned green beans, and ate a half of can for each dinner. Also, no eating after 6 p.m.!

The diet is a three day on and four day off. After the first day, I felt really hungry, but did not feel as bloated. I did have to use the bathroom all day due to all the water I drank. After the three days, I really did lose five pounds. I felt really energized and even slept better. The issue I ran into was the four days off of the diet.

Once I was able to eat freely, I gained all the weight back! The moment I ate a cheeseburger, I felt my stomach bloat right back up. It was even a homemade cheeseburger! The military diet was basically a quick fix that broke easily. I pretty much starved myself, but only to the point I lost water weight. I did not lose any fat.

It was an interesting diet and maybe a good jump start to a new, healthy lifestyle. I felt much better not eating as much, but following this diet was not a huge success. Instead, I used it as a guideline and pre-made all my food for three days at a time and ate just what I prepared. I drank more water and did not eat after 6 p.m. The Military Diet was a bust.

The Battle Between College And My Mental Health

College isn't easy, and I'm afraid I'm not going to make it at the rate my mental health is going.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?
